Too many peppers

Today is our holiday party at work, and I will certainly burn the building down one way or another due to my chili.

First off, I've got the crock pot in my cubicle and it's on. A few coworkers I don't know have looked seemingly angrily at it. Sooner or later security will show up to escort me out. If they don't, it will probably result in the building going up in flames.

Then there's the chili itself. It's normally not very spicy at all. I decided to put in some Serrano peppers. Since I have never used serrano peppers, I went by the "hotness scale" at the grocery store, where they didn't seem particularly bad. So I got five of them. You can see where this is going.
